Personal Bio

Toscano-Anderson was born April 10, 1993 in Oakland. He is the son of Patricia Toscano, has two brothers (Avery and Andrew) and one sister (Ariana). Toscano-Anderson attended Castro Valley High School, where he averaged 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in his senior season and took the team to the state title game. He continued his basketball career at Marquette, where he majored in criminology and law studies. After college he went on to play in the top professional basketball league in Mexico for several seasons. Toscano-Anderson has also appeared for the Mexican national team, seeing action in the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

College/International Summary

Anderson played four seasons of college ball at Marquette, appearing in 121 games (77 starts). He was used sparingly as a freshman in 2011-12, but moved into the starting lineup as a sophomore despite logging 13.0 minutes per contest. That year saw the most team success during Anderson's time with the program, as Marquette made it to the Elite Eight before losing to Syracuse. Anderson's best statistical year came as a senior, when he averaged 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds on a career-best 49.0 percent shooting. He had a career-high 23 points on Nov. 22 of that season against Omaha. Anderson was not drafted out of college but spent the next four years in the top professional league in Mexico.

The 28-year-old entered the starting lineup with Draymond Green (finger) out and came one point, rebound and assist shy of his first career triple-double. Toscano-Anderson has been steadily producing across the board over his last nine games -- a span in which he's averaging 7.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.1 three-pointers and 1.0 blocks in 30.8 minutes. The second-year guard will look to end the regular season strong Sunday at home against the Grizzlies.

Toscano-Anderson averaged 20.9 minutes in 53 games during his second-year in the NBA. The 28-year-old started 16 games and averaged 7.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks in 25.6 minutes during those games. He shot career-highs from the field and from downtown, shooting 57.9 percent overall and 40.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Marquette product scored double-digit points on 10 occasions including a career-high 20 during a 119-101 win over Cleveland on April 15. During the career-high performance, the six-foot-six forward also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked a shot and recorded a steal in 31 minutes. The ex-Golden Eagle grabbed five-plus rebounds 29 times including double-digits twice and a season-high 11 on Feb. 8. The second-year player dished out multiple assists in 36 games, including a season-high nine during a May 14 125-122 win over the Pelicans. Toscano-Anderson just narrowly missed his first career triple-double in the performance, totaling nine points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Defensively, he registered multiple steals in 10 games and multiple blocks in four games, with season-highs of four and five respectively. 2019-20 was Toscano-Anderson's rookie campaign after going undrafted in 2015. His NBA debut for the Warriors was Feb. 8 against the Lakers. In 19 minutes, he posted five points (2-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists. From his fourth appearance through his 12th appearance, Toscano-Anderson saw at least 20 minutes in each contest. During that stretch, he averaged 6.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals.
