Following one collegiate season at Michigan, Brazdeikis was selected with the 47th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut Nov. 3 against the Kings. In four minutes, he posted four points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one assist. Overall, Brazdeikis appeared in nine games for New York during the pandemic shortened season and totaled 53 minutes. "Iggy" posted a total of 17 points (6-22 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block. On Dec. 6, the rookie scored a career-high six points and grabbed three rebounds in 18 minutes during a loss at Milwaukee. Brazdeikis also spent 24 games in the G League with the Westchester Knicks. He saw 33.4 minutes per contest and averaged 20.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per G League game. Brazdeikis shot 50.1 percent from the field, hit 1.9 threes a game at 34.4 percent and made 68.7 percent of his free throws. Brazdeikis set G League career highs of 36 points, 14 rebounds (twice), eight assists, six made threes, three steals and two blocks. Arguably his best overall G League performance occurred Feb. 26 during a home win over the Greensboro Swarm. Across 39 minutes, Brazdeikis recorded 34 points (13-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and five assists (with only one turnover).
