Howard played in 37 games during his first season in the NBA. The 22-year-old averaged 2.8 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.1 steals in 5.5 minutes. The Marquette product played 20-plus minutes four times and 30-plus minutes two times, notching a season-high 34 in his only start of the season. During the contest, Howard recorded 20 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block. He went 9-for-14 from the field and 2-for-6 from three in a 104-91 win over the Pistons on May 14. On the season, the rookie shot 37.7 percent from the field, 27.7 percent from three and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line. The 5-foot-10 guard scored double-digit points four times and 20-plus points two times, including a season-high 23 against Portland on May 16. On the night, the ex-Golden Eagle went 8-for-17 from the field, 4-for-8 from downtown and a perfect 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. He also registered four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 32 minutes. Per 36 minutes, Howard averaged 18.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.7 steals.
