Even though the Knicks have been in rebuilding mode for all three of Dotson's seasons in the NBA, the team seemingly doesn't view the swingman as part of its long-term plans. As evidence, Dotson's playing time has dropped off from 27.5 minutes per game in 2018-19 to 17.4 in 2019-20, with veterans like Maurice Harkless, Reggie Bullock and Wayne Ellington all playing ahead of him before the NBA suspended its season in mid-March.
