Selected No. 1 in G League Draft
Jones was selected with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 G League Draft on Saturday.
				  ANALYSIS
Jones was the heavy favorite to go No. 1 overall, so there were no surprises here. Jones, who was recently waived by Washington, was a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He has made a total of 54 regular-season appearances at the NBA level, but he averaged just 10.2 minutes per contest in those games. Jones was traded on draft day to the Rip City Remix.

This section compares his stats with all players from the previous three seasons (minimum 200 minutes played)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

2024 Fantasy Outlook

Jones spent four years at Weber State and ended his final season with averages of 20.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 triples in 37.0 minutes per contest while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line over 31 appearances. The numbers are solid, but he's not expected to see steady minutes at either wing role since Luguentz Dort, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe are all ahead of him in the depth chart for bench minutes. As such, Jones isn't an enticing target on draft day, although he might have some upside in dynasty formats due to his long-term upside.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

				  Candidate to carve out role
Jones could see regular playing time to begin the 2024-25 season if Kenrich Williams isn't cleared in time, Clemente Almanza of the OKC Thunder Wire reports.
				  ANALYSIS
There is still a lot of work to be done for Jones to establish himself as a key member of the team's rotation, and Almanza also notes that Jones will need to shoot with consistency from range in training camp and preseason. However, he should receive plenty of opportunities to show what he can do, and the Thunder are unlikely to rush Williams back into action before he's ready.
