2025 Fantasy Outlook
Following some time overseas, Demin moved to the United States to play college basketball for BYU as a five-star recruit. In his one-and-done season, he earned Big 12 All-Freshman Team and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors, averaging 10.6 points on 41/27/70 shooting, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27.5 minutes. Demin is a 6-foot-9 point-forward with some of the best passing in the draft. He has the vision, size and creativity to make almost every type of pass with accuracy and seems to prefer setting up his teammates rather than scoring. While Demin isn't a great jumpshooter, he is crafty around the basket and in the mid-range area with fakes and a soft touch. Defensively, he's at his best anticipating the offense, jumping into passing lanes and using active hands to generate steals and blocks. Demin projects as a floor general at the NBA level - someone who can organize the offense and set up his teammates. How far he can go beyond that will depend on his shooting development. His size will always be an advantage, however, and other players have made it work despite taking minimal three-point attempts. One thing is for sure - there are opportunities available in Brooklyn. The only players with defined roles are Cam Thomas, Michael Porter and Nic Claxton. Pretty much everything else is up for grabs, and it seems like Demin will be the team's starting point guard. He'll still have to fight off Nolan Traore and Ben Saraf - two other rookie guards - but Demin has the inside track. At the very least, he could offer solid assists and steals potential in Year 1. Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Egor Demin was born in Moscow, Russia and attended the Moscow Basketball Academy (Trinta School) until 2021 - impressing scouts and earning offers. In September of 2021, Demin inked a six-year contract with Real Madrid. He primarily played for the junior A team and Real Madrid B. With the latter in 2023-24, he averaged 15.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.1 steals with 42/19/73 shooting splits. Following that campaign, he moved to the United States to play college basketball for BYU as a five-star recruit. Nets general manager Sean Marks said Tuesday that Demin is dealing with a plantar fascia tear, Lucas Kaplan of NetsDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"He's been a little bit limited with a plantar fascia tear after Summer League," Marks said. "So he hasn't potentially had the summer that he would have loved." Demin rested for the majority of the Las Vegas Summer League, and now there's clarity as to why that happened. Marks said the rookie is expected to be ready for game action by Opening Night, but this injury is certainly something to monitor during training camp. Demin is currently penciled in as the starting point guard, but the Nets' rotation could be fluid for a while.

Dealing with foot issue
GBrooklyn Nets
September 23, 2025
Nets general manager Sean Marks said Demin will be limited for the start of training camp with a plantar fascia tear in his foot, according to Nets Daily.
ANALYSIS
"He'll be limited for the first part of camp, with what he's going to be doing, but hopefully there's a build up through the first couple of weeks here, and then he gets out there," Marks said. "But we have no issues with thinking he's going to miss, you know, the start of the season." This is certainly an odd situation, as Demin has been battling this since Summer League. However, the injury wasn't revealed until Media Day, and it's not even clear which foot is actually bothering him. This is a situation to monitor closely, considering Demin is the projected starter at point guard to open the campaign.
