Gabe Brown

Gabe Thomas Brown was born March 5, 2000 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Brown's oldest brother, Nick, played basketball for William Penn University. Gabe played basketball at Belleville High School in Belleville, Michigan. He didn't make the varsity team as a sophomore but was promoted for the final eight games. As a junior, he averaged 15.9 points and 5.7 rebounds. As a senior, he averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Brown was a four-star recruit and committed to Michigan State. As a freshman for the Spartans, he appeared in 32 games and averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 8.0 minutes. As a sophomore, he started 16 of his 31 appearances and averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 21.9 minutes. As a junior, he started five of 25 games and averaged 7.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 20.7 minutes. He saw a significant role increase as a senior and averaged 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 28.9 minutes. For that 2021-22 season, he was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team (Coaches) and the All-Big Ten Honorable Mention Team (Media). He was also named the Battle 4 Atlantis MVP. At the 2022 G League Elite Camp, Brown measured 6-foot-7.25 without shoes and weighed 207 pounds. He had a wingspan of 7-foot-0 and recorded a 33-inch maximum vertical jump. Brown was not selected during the 2022 NBA Draft, but afterwards signed a Summer League agreement with the OKC Thunder.
