Glenn Robinson

Glenn Alan Robinson III was born in Gary, Indiana, to Shantelle Clay and Glenn Robinson, Jr. His father, Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson Jr., was a two-time NBA All-Star who played 11 seasons in the NBA with four teams. Robinson attended Lake Central High School in St. John, Indiana, finishing his career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,318 points. He garnered numerous awards during his high-school career, including 2011 IBCA Underclass All-State First Team, 2011 Associated Press All-State High Honorable Mention, 2012 IBCA Association All-State First Team, 2012 Associated Press All-State Second Team, All-Duneland Conference (2010, '11, '12) , 2012 Post-Tribune Player of the Year, and Team MVP (2010, '11, '12). Robinson was also named MVP of ESPN's High School All-American game in 2012, leading the North team with 16 points and four rebounds. He has served as a spokesperson for the Gary for Life program in Gary, Indiana, and hosts a two-day basketball clinic in his hometown during the summer. Robinson spent two years with Michigan and started every game in which he appeared. The 6-foot-6 forward joined a team with a great deal of perimeter power in Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr. and fellow freshman Nik Stauskas. He scored 20 points or more five times and converted 57.2 percent of his field-goal attempts on his way to 11.0 points per game. The Wolverines advanced to the National Championship game and Robinson averaged 12.7 points in the NCAA Tournament. After being named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team, Robinson returned for his sophomore season and helped Michigan by averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 rebounds. He scored 23 points twice, including in a win over Nebraska. The Wolverines made it to the Elite Eight and the forward scored at least 13 points in every game during the Big Dance. After leading Michigan to 59 wins over two seasons, Robinson declared for the 2014 NBA Draft, where he was drafted with the 40th overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
