Iverson Latrell Molinar Jones was born in December of 1999 in Panama City, Panama. He moved to the United States at 15 years old to play basketball. Molinar played for three different schools during his high school career - Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California; Covenant Christian Ministries Academy in Marietta, Georgia; and Veritas Prep in Calabasas, California. He also played for Team Why Not, an AAU team founded by NBA player Russell Westbrook. In addition, Molinar played for Panama's junior national teams starting at the age of 10 and played for the senior national team in 2017 at the FIBA AmeriCup. Molinar committed to play college basketball at Mississippi State over offers from schools such as Arizona and Arizona State. As a freshman, he started eight of his 31 appearances and averaged 5.9 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per contest. Molinar became a full-time starter as a sophomore and averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. As a junior, he averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals. That season (2021-22), the Bulldog was named to the All-SEC Second Team (AP) and First Team All-SEC (Coaches). Arguably his best performance as a junior occurred in a win against Georgia, where he posted 28 points (11-18 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block with only one turnover. On March 25, 2022, Molinar declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and hired an agent, forgoing his remaining college eligibility. At the NBA Draft Combine, he measured 6-foot-2 without shoes and 183 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. He also recorded a 38-inch maximum vertical leap. Molinar went unselected during the Draft, but signed a 2022 Summer League agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks.
