Jannero Pargo

Pargo will most likely compete against Ramon Sessions for playing time behind Walker. He averaged 8.4 points, 1.9 assists, 1.2 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 16 minutes over 18 games last season with the Cats last season.

With the injury to Wall, Pargo opted to sign with the Wizards instead of going back to the Bulls because of a better opportunity in Washington. He's simply a roster filler at this point in his career.

Pargo, who played last year for Dynamo Moscow, signed a one-year deal worth approximately $2 million with the Bulls. Pargo spent parts of 2003-06 with Chicago and showed that he could be an effective scorer off the bench. While he clearly can't replace Ben Gordon, he will be looked on to fill a similar role as a scoring guard off the bench.

Pargo’s labeled a point guard, but he’s a shooter at heart. And he’s not a very good one with a career field-goal percentage of 40.9 percent. He loves to shoot (8.4 FG/game in 20:48 mpg), and can hit it from 3-point range (career 38.8 percent), so he’s not bereft of fantasy value. Most of his minutes will come at the two guard, but only when Mo Peterson, Rasual Butler and Bobby Jackson get their run.

Pargo is a new addition to the team, who has the ability to shoot the three. He can provide a spark off the bench when he plays, but his time will be very limited being the third string point guard. Don’t expect more than 3-4 points and one three per game.

Pargo is instant offense off the bench, ala Vinnie Johnson, but his playing time is limited due to the other guard options the Bulls have. He proved his value down the stretch in the regular season and in the playoffs, and was re-signed in October for another year in Chicago. Expect him to have the occasional big game off the bench but not see enough action or provide any sort of consistent numbers for him to have a role on your team.

Pargo signed with the Bulls last season in late-March and made an immediate impression on management. He showed an ability to score and needed to work on his ball handling and defense to open 2004-05 as Kirk Hinrich’s backup. Of course, this was the thought before the Bulls drafted Chris Duhon and traded for Mike Wilks and Frank Williams. Pargo’s $125K contract is not guaranteed, meaning there is a strong probability that he will not be a member of the Bulls when the 2004-05 season starts.

Pargo starts off the season slotted as the Lakers third option at the point. He'll most likely see the scrap time that isn't played by Gary Payton or Derek Fisher.
