The only significant new piece the Grizzlies brought in this offseason was Vince Carter. Though he's been a bench player for the last few seasons, could Carter get thrust into the starting lineup this season?

Stokes made a handful of appearances for the Grizzlies and Heat last season but spent most of the year in the D-League, where he started 28 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and was named the league's MVP. He posted averages of 21.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the D-League while converting a staggering 72.6 percent of his field-goal attempts. Stokes has yet to flash that type of potential at the NBA level, but his opportunities to date have been limited. The 22-year-old will have to earn his way onto the Nuggets roster in training camp after signing a partially guaranteed contract in September. The odds aren't in Stokes' favor, though his success in the D-League could give him a leg up over his fellow camp invitees.
