Jarrod Uthoff

Uthoff was born May 19, 1993. As a senior in high school, he was named Iowa Mr. Basketball in 2011, attending Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids. Uthoff committed to the University of Wisconsin, redshirting his freshman year. He then transferred to Iowa, eventually taking the court for the first time in 2013-14 as a redshirt sophomore. As a junior, he was named third-team All-Big Ten. During his senior campaign, he was named consensus Second-Team All-American, First-Team All-Big Ten, Big Ten All-Defensive Team and Academic All-American of the Year. He was unselected in the 2016 NBA Draft, joining the Kings for Summer League before spending upcoming season in the G League. Uthoff committed to Wisconsin and redshirted his freshman campaign. He later transferred to Iowa. He made his collegiate debut as a redshirt sophomore during the 2013-14 season. That year, he averaged 7.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 18.2 minutes. The following season as a junior, Uthoff averaged 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.1 steals in 30.3 minutes, starting all 34 of his appearances. His performances led to him being named to the All-Big Ten Third Team (Coaches). As a senior, Uthoff averaged 18.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 1.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.5 minutes. After the season, he was named Academic All-American Team Member of the Year, Consensus All-American Second Team, AP All-American Third Team, Sporting News All-American Second Team, All-Big Ten First Team and All-Big Ten Defensive Team. Arguably the best performance of his collegiate career was Dec. 12 against Iowa State. In that contest, he posted 32 points (12-20 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal.
