Josh Reaves

Joshua Alexander Reaves was born in Fairfax, Virginia, to Liset Reaves in 1997. He has an older brother, Michael, who was a defensive lineman at Shepherd University. Reaves also has an uncle who was a professional soccer player. Reaves played three seasons at Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax. There, he won a state championship in 2013-14 and was named a 2014 All-Met and all-state selection. During his time at PVI, the team had a record of 80-22. Reaves then transferred to the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, for his senior season. As a senior for Oak Hill in 2014-15, he helped lead the Warriors to a 47-1 record and a berth in the Dick's Sporting Goods National Championship Game. Reaves was named the 2018-19 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season at Penn State. He was also named to both the 2017-18 and 18-19 Big Ten All-Defensive teams. Reaves led the Big Ten in steals in the 2017-18 season (74) and the 18-19 season (80). The guard led the Big Ten in steals per game in his sophomore (2.1), junior (2.2) and senior (2.5) seasons. Along with steals, Reaves led the Nittany Lions in assists (94) in his senior year. He also was second on the 18-19 Penn State team in blocks (31). Reaves was not taken in the 2019 NBA Draft. He signed with the Dallas Mavericks during the summer of 2019.
