Thor took some steps forward during the 2022-23 season, albeit small ones. He played in 69 games for the Hornets but logged just 14.0 minutes per night, averaging 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds. Although he has the size and athleticism to make people sit up and take notice, he has yet to figure things out at the NBA level. Given what we have seen from him thus far, there is some doubt whether he ever becomes a key rotational piece. Playing behind Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller and Gordon Hayward, Thor is unlikely to be a factor in fantasy leagues this season. Read Past Outlooks

Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
JT Thor was born in Omaha, Nebraska in August of 2002. Thor grew up with his parents along with seven siblings. His family moved to Anchorage, Alaska at age five, where he started playing basketball for West Anchorage High School in seventh grade. At age 14, Thor's family moved to West Virginia, where his older brother lived, so Thor could attend Huntington Prep School. He played there for two seasons before transferring to Norcross High School in Georgia at age 16. Thor reclassified to the 2020 class, and as a senior at Norcross averaged 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds a game, which earned him all-state-team honors. He was rated a four-star recruit and committed to Auburn. Thor started 27 games for the Tigers as a freshman and averaged 9.4 points, five rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. Thor declared for the NBA draft in March of 2021, forgoing his remaining college eligibility. Thor was selected 37th overall by the Detroit Pistons and was traded to the Charlotte Hornets on August 6th.
ANALYSIS Thor and Theo Maledon will head to the bench due to the return of Brandon Miller and Gordon Hayward to the starting lineup Friday. With Miles Bridges also back from suspension, Thor could see his minutes drastically decrease.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Thor was selected by the Hornets with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. As a freshman at Auburn, Thor averaged 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 23.1 minutes per game. He has great size and length, which, combined with his defensive instincts, gives him some intriguing potential in the NBA. The swing piece for his development will be how well his shooting comes along. He took 2.7 threes per game in college but made just 29.7 percent of them.
