Keifer Sykes

Sykes was born Dec. 30, 1993 in Chicago, Illinois. He's the son of the late James Sykes and is the second oldest of seven children. In high school, he was named second team All-Chicago Public High School League while at John Marshall Metropolitan High School. After high school, he committed to play college ball at Green Bay alongside two of his former high school teammates. Immediately named a starter as a freshman, Sykes averaged 11.2 points, 3.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 29.2 minutes. He was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team. For the next three years, he was named to the Horizon League All-League First Team. As a sophomore, he averaged 15.6 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals. As a junior, he racked up 20.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals. As a senior, Sykes averaged 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals. Sykes went undrafted in 2015. He joined the Cavaliers Summer League team before signing his first professional contract for the Spurs.
