Khyri Thomas

Khyri Thomas was born in 1996 in Omaha, Nebraska. He is the son of Lakisha Hazley and Kelvin Eddie, and he has two siblings, Kiki and Raevyn. Thomas started his high school ball with Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, Virginia. He eventually transferred to Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska. After his senior season at Benson, Thomas was awarded the NebraskaHSHoops.com inaugural "Mr. Basketball" award, given to the top male high school player in the state. He scored 18 points on 8-of-11 from the field in his debut in a win over Texas Southern and put up at least 18 points three times in the first eight games. After going through a rough patch, the 6-foot-3 guard made a comeback in the NIT by averaging 12.3 points in three games, which he parlayed into a productive sophomore season. He averaged 12.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists on his way to being named Big East Defensive Player of the Year. Thomas had a pair of double-doubles and helped Creighton to the NCAA Tournament. As a junior, he was a repeat winner of Big East Defensive Player of the Year and combined with Marcus Foster as one of the best backcourts in the country. Thomas averaged 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.7 steals in his junionr season. Over his career, the guard hit 40.6 percent of his three-pointers. Thomas declared for the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected 38th overall by Philadelphia.
