ANALYSIS
Expect this to be the norm as the Hornets acquired Banks for cap relief next year, not for his contributions on the court.

Banks only saw action in 22 games last season, averaging 11 minutes per game. He isnt likely to see much more playing time this season.
Banks' ugly contract keeps him in a uniform, but he doesn't seem likely to crack the Raptors' guard rotation.
With Chalmers, Cook, Quinn in the fold, Banks could be the odd man out in the Heat back court. It seems unlikely that he'll play a significant role unless one of the other guards is injured or Chalmers takes longer than expected to develop.
Banks should be Steve Nash's primary backup, though with the versatility on this roster, that doesn't mean Banks will get a lot of minutes. In fact, Barbosa will often handle the ball when Nash is out of the game. Banks averaged 11.2 mpg last season, and he'll probably be around that same total in 2007-08.
Banks has been receiving high praise for his play at the point and will serve as Steve Nash's main backup. He is adjusting to the Suns' style of play quickly, but with so many reliable options at guard, probably won't top 15 minutes per game.
Banks’ value will largely depend on what city he calls home in 2005-06. It is very likely that Danny Ainge will move the enigmatic Banks before the season starts. If he remains in Boston, he will back up Dan Dickau and Delonte West at the point and a decrease in minutes from last season (14.1). On the upside, his per 48 minutes are pretty good, so he could produce if given the opportunity.
He was nearly traded to the Lakers and his fantasy value will hinge on whether he can beat out talented rookie Delonte West. He is worth a look as he is very adept at stealing the ball. Keep an eye on him.
Was drafted by Memphis in the first round of the 2003 draft, then promptly traded to Boston. Newly minted team president Danny Ainge coveted Banks heading into draft night and, to his credit, got his man. Boston expects big things out of the rookie and he did not disappoint in the team's summer league; showing quickness and an ability to penetrate. We think he will be a big-time player in the NBA and he has the attitude to back it up. Look for good things from Banks, and shortly.
