Nate Darling

Nathan Joseph Darling was born on August 30, 1998 in Saint John, New Brunswick (Canada). The son of Jason Darling and Julie Metlege, Nate has four brothers: Josh, Jake, Tyler and Anthony. Darling attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he was teammates with Markelle Fultz -- the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft -- as well as future Ohio State star and NFL first-round pick Chase Young. Darling spent his final three high school years at DeMatha, helping the school to a 33-4 record during his junior season. Playing for Team Canada at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Basketball Championship, Darling helped secure a silver medal. Darling began his college career at UAB, where he averaged 2.5 points per game as a freshman and 10.1 points per game as a sophomore. Following his sophomore season, Darling opted to transfer to the University of Delaware. After sitting out the 2018-19 season, per NCAA rules, Darling started all 32 games for the Blue Hens in 2019-20, averaging 21.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and shooting 39.9 percent from three. Darling was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team. After the season, Darling declared for the 2020 NBA Draft. In August, Darling announced that he would keep his name in the draft, forfeiting his final year of college eligibility.
