				2014
A torn Achilles tendon during the 2014 summer league cost Jackson his chance at playing in his first year in the NBA. Generously listed at 5-foot-10, he was originally selected by the Sixers in the second round of the 2013 draft but was packaged in the deal that sent Jrue Holiday to the Pelicans for Nerlens Noel. After leading the D-League in scoring during the 2013-14 season with 29.1 points in 42 minutes per game, he willfully packed his bags at the NBA trade deadline and finished the year playing in Turkey. Even though he was eventually waived by the Sixers prior to the start of training camp last year, the team footed Jackson's medical bill to ensure he could adequately recover from the Achilles injury he suffered while playing in the summer league. This past July, Jackson signed a multi-year, partially-guaranteed deal with the Sixers, and in five summer league games, he averaged 10.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.5 steals in 25 minutes per game. He was, as expected, rusty from the field and shot 32 percent overall. A prolific scorer, once depositing 58 in a D-League contest, Jackson's quickness may have been hampered by the injury, and it may take him more than this season to fully recover, a dubious path to have to travel while acclimating yourself to playing in the NBA.
