Salim Stoudamire

Despite his small stature, Stoudamire is a shooting guard in a point guard's body. He's averaged about one assist a game throughout his two-year career, but he takes about three three-pointers every game. Stoudamire will never be confused with Reggie Miller, but 90 percent from the line and 37 percent on three pointers make him one of the better shooters in the league. He'll come off the bench and be the designated shooter again this year.

Stoudamire is a pure shooter and isn't bashful about taking his shot, hoisting 8.1 FGA in just 20.3 minutes per game. We don't see him getting that kind of playing time this season, as the Hawks possess a five-guard rotation (Speedy Claxton, Tyronn Lue, Joe Johnson, Josh Childress and Royal Ivey) ahead of him, but he has the range to develop into a 3-point specialist (38.0%, 3.5 3PA per game) in short minutes.

Stoudamire's lack of size doesn't bode well for him given his shoot-first mentality, as he has more the body of a point guard than that of a shooting guard. He also has fierce competition at the two guard spot and will probably not have much playing time this season. If Stoudamire, who has handled the rock in pressure situations during the NCAA tournament, shows he can play some point guard, he could eventually push Tyronn Lue for minutes as a backup.
