Booker opened the 2016-17 campaign in a starting role but ended up falling out of favor later in the year and came off the bench behind the younger Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. That said, his move to the second unit didn't hurt his value much, if at all, and he still finished the season averaging career highs in points (10.0), rebounds (8.0), assists (1.9) and steals (1.1). While coach Kenny Atkinson already announced Hollis-Jefferson will start the upcoming season at power forward, Booker's value shouldn't take a huge hit. It may be tough for him to match his best statistical performance in his career, but with Brook Lopez being sent to the Lakers and then replaced by Timofey Mozgov, there's likely going to be more touches available in the post. However, the Nets did add D'Angelo Russell, Allen Crabbe and DeMarre Carroll in the offseason, so they'll all likely be heavily involved in the offensive game plan and could demand a ton of shots. It wouldn't be surprising if Booker's scoring numbers fell with more mouths to feed and the Nets could try to get Hollis-Jefferson even more minutes to speed up his development, though at most, it should only be a slight dip in all-around production for the 29-year-old big man.
