Tyler Zeller

Zeller, the nephew of former NBA player Al Eberhard, was born Jan. 17, 1990. His brothers are Cody and Luke Zeller. During his senior season in high school, Zeller averaged 33.1 points and 11.0 rebounds per game while shooting 69% from the field and 82% from three. That resulted in him being named "Mr. Basketball" in Indiana. Zeller also played on the tennis team for three years and had a 3.99 grade point average on a 4.0 scale -- third in his graduating class. After High School, Zeller attended North Carolina. During his senior campaign, he averaged 16.5 points per game and was named ACC Player of the Year. Following his collegiate campaign, he was drafted 17th overall in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Mavericks. Zeller played 15 games as a freshman at North Carolina, starting two while Tyler Hansbrough was sidelined. Zeller saw more time as a sophomore, appearing in 27 games and averaging 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds. His role increased significantly as a junior, becoming a full-time starter and averaging 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 28.1 minutes. He was also named to the All-ACC Second Team that season. As a senior, Zeller averaged 16.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 28.2 minutes. His stellar play resulted in him being named Consensus All-American Second Team. Arguably his best overall game in college was Dec. 4, 2010 against Kentucky. Zeller started, played 30 minutes and recorded 27 points (8-13 FG, 11-12 FT), 14 rebounds and five blocks.
