Heads to Miami in six-player trade
The Marlins acquired Mazur, left-hander Robby Snelling and infielders Graham Pauley and Jay Beshears from the Padres on Tuesday in exchange for left-hander Tanner Scott and right-hander Bryan Hoeing, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Mazur's minor-league body of work had been stellar (2.37 FIP at Double-A in 2024, 3.01 FIP at Double-A in 2023) before he reached the Pacific Coast League and the majors this season. In five Triple-A starts, Mazur has a 7.83 ERA and 1.48 WHIP, which is similar to his 7.49 ERA and 1.81 WHIP in eight big-league starts. He will likely head to Triple-A Jacksonville for the time being, but Mazur should get plenty of chances to carve out a spot in Miami's rotation in the coming years.
