Alsup now owns a 3.50 ERA with a 38:10 K:BB over 36 innings (seven starts) and seems to have rebounded nicely from his one bad start this year, which came a few starts ago. He still need to work on his efficiency, as high pitch counts have prevented him from going past the sixth inning in four of his seven starts, but sometimes that is to be expected from high-strikeout pitchers. The 24-year-old is still a ways off from a big-league appearance, but should his recent trend continue, he could be at Double-A fairly quickly this year.
