Salazar, 19, struck out six and walked three while holding Low-A Kannapolis to one hit over six shutout innings in his most recent start.
ANALYSIS
Control was a major issue for Salazar in April, as he issued 19 free passes in 19.1 innings. A great share of that damage came in his season debut April 5 (seven walks in two innings), but he appears to be settling in to some degree after going at least five innings in two of his last three appearances. Salazar has a very live arm, but will likely be brought along slowly in 2014, with a full-season stay in the Sally League the most probably outcome.
