ANALYSIS
Shaver, who is not on the 40-man roster, is a slugging corner infielder the Astros are trying to convert to catcher. He started a combined 29 games at catcher for High-A Fayetteville and Double-A Corpus Christi in 2019 before making 14 starts there in the Arizona Fall League. The 24-year-old hit a combined 21 home runs and knocked in 72 runs with an .842 OPS in 2019, although a focus on transitioning to catcher could put a dent in his batting production.
