Boyd has been suspended for the first 50 games of 2015 after a second positive test for a drug of abuse, the
St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
ANALYSIS
The right-hander missed time last season due to an undisclosed violation of team rules, and will now be forced to sit out the first two months of the 2015 campaign as a result of the failed drug test. A supplemental first-round pick in 2011, Boyd has struggled to a 4.75 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 161 innings at the Low-A level over the past two years.
