Soto will miss the entire 2017 season after suffering a fractured foot while chasing down a flyball in minor-league camp,
MLB.com's Mike Rosenbaum reports.
ANALYSIS
The fracture required surgery, and he should be fully recovered for 2018 minor-league camp. Soto is one of the Marlins' better prospects, but that says more about the lack of talent in Miami's system than any specific appeal with regard to the player. He has an intriguing blend of power and speed, but is unlikely to ever hit enough for his tools to show up in games.
