The Angels signed Curletta to a minor-league deal in December, but he didn't get a chance to display his skills with his new club. The 26-year-old was named Texas League Player of the Year in 2018 when he slashed .282/.383/.482 with 23 home runs and 94 RBI, but he hit only .216 with 151 strikeouts in 422 at-bats between Double-A and Triple-A last season.
