The Cubs acquired Martinez on Thursday from the Dodgers as the player to be named later in the Darwin Barney deal,
Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old had posted a 3.47 ERA and a 91:19 K:BB ratio over 106.1 innings at Low-A Great Lakes. He'll still a long way from the majors, but the Cubs are likely to just content to get somebody with upside in exchange for an expendable commodity like Barney.
