De Paula pitched 3.1 innings during Sunday's blowout loss to the Tigers, where he gave up a home run and walked four during his time on the mound. Fortunately for him, he wasn't the only Yankee to pitch poorly Sunday as Masahiro Tanaka and Danny Burawa combined to give up four home runs of their own, although both De Paula's and Burawa's outings were dismal enough to warrant an option back to Triple-A.
