The Astros transferred Garcia (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Since Garcia's 15-day IL stint was retroactive to Wednesday, his move to the 60-day IL officially ends his season. The specifics regarding the right-hander's elbow injury aren't yet clear, as he's presumably still in the process of getting his medical tests reviewed by doctors before an official diagnosis and recovery timetable are made available. After May 2023 Tommy John surgery and related complications kept him out of action with the big club for more than two years, Garcia made just two starts for Houston upon returning from the IL on Sept. 1 before being shut down with another elbow injury.
