Canterino has been shut down from throwing due to shoulder pain and is set for an MRI next week, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Canterino missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He returned for spring training but suffered a rotator cuff strain in mid-March and has thus far spent the 2024 campaign on Triple-A St. Paul's 60-day injured list. He had recently started throwing bullpen sessions, but this latest setback could prove to be a significant one.
