Harrison has ended his baseball career and will play college football in the fall, as he joined Arkansas' program as a walk-on in May, Kyle Bonagura of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A standout high school receiver in Lee's Summit, Mo. from the Class of 2014, Harrison turned down a scholarship offer at Nebraska to sign with the Brewers, who drafted him in the second round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft. Harrison was eventually traded to the Marlins in the January 2018 deal that sent Christian Yelich to Milwaukee, and the 29-year-old reached the majors for the first time in 2020 with Miami. He appeared in 50 games at the big-league level with the Marlins and Angels from 2020 through 2022, slashing just .176/.253/.294 over 76 plate appearances. Harrison rejoined the Milwaukee organization on a minor-league deal following the 2022 season, but he hit just .208 at Triple-A Nashville in 2023 before being released last September.
