Schierholtz was suspended for 80 games on Friday for a violation of the performance-enhancing substance Ibutamoren,
Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Schierholtz was released by the Tigers in May and hasn't been able to latch onto a new club since. This suspension won't help, and the 32-year-old might've played his last game in the major leagues. Throughout his career, Schierholtz is a .253/.302/.405 hitter with 52 home runs and 228 RBI during 799 games for four different organizations.
