Dealt to Yankees in Aroldis Chapman trade
OFNew York Yankees
July 25, 2016
Crawford was one of four players acquired by the Yankees on Monday in the trade that sent Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs, Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
In addition to Crawford, the Yankees will pick up prospects Gleyber Torres and Billy McKinney along with swingman Adam Warren, who figures to join the big-league club at some point in the near future. Torres is the headliner in the trade, and McKinney and Warren are regarded as 40-man roster players, whereas Crawford is more of a lottery ticket for the Yankees. The 22-year-old was slashing .255/.327/.386 over 329 at-bats with High-A Myrtle Beach, good for roughly average production in the Carolina League. Crawford packs little power in his frame for someone who checks in at 6-foot-3, but he offers good speed and has swiped 22 bags in 28 attempts on the season.
