Aiming for late-2025 return
Tiedemann (elbow) said Friday that he hopes to be ready to pitch in games before the end of the 2025 season, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Tiedemann underwent Tommy John surgery in late July, so it's not a guarantee he'll be ready for game action at any point this season. If he is, it's almost surely not going to come at the major-league level. However, a minor-league stint late in 2025 would position the southpaw for a normal offseason next winter before he competes for a role on the Blue Jays' pitching staff in 2026. Tiedemann has some of the best pure stuff outside of the majors but has had difficulty staying healthy, with his career high of 78.2 innings coming back in 2022.
