Commings was selected in the 37th round of the 2008 MLB entry draft, but elected to give up the sport in favor of pursuing a career in NFL. After a semi-successful attempt, he's decided to turn his attention back to baseball. Braves general manager John Coppolella described him as a "tremendous athlete" and he will likely begin his attempt at a comeback at the lower minor league levels as an outfielder.
