Pham had been a free agent for just over two weeks after being released by Baltimore on June 12. The 38-year-old will join his third organization of 2026, though his only big-league action this season came as a member of the Mets, with whom he logged 14 plate appearances back in April. Pham slashed just .175/.254/.381 over 71 plate appearances with Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles organization and will need a better showing with the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate in Lehigh Valley before garnering another look in the majors. His deal contains an opt-out date of July 25, which will allow him to elect free agency if the Phillies do't add him to the big-league roster by then.
