McCollum (lung) will participate in shootaround Wednesday and could be cleared to make his return to the Pelicans lineup later that night in Philadelphia,
Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. He's officially
listed as questionable.
ANALYSISShams Charania reported Monday on FanDuel TV's "Run It Back" that McCollum was trending toward a return to the lineup this week, with the veteran guard said to be targeting either Wednesday's game against the 76ers or Friday's game against the Spurs. McCollum appears to have responded well to returning to practice as a full participant, and if he fares well in shootaround Wednesday, he looks as though he could put an end to his 12-game absence since being diagnosed with a collapsed right lung earlier this month. Expect the Pelicans to provide clarity on McCollum's status for Wednesday's game shortly after the shootaround concludes, and if he's available against the 76ers, the 32-year-old could be subject to a minute restriction.
