Guy announced his retirement from professional basketball Wednesday and plans to begin his post-playing career as a special assistant on the basketball staff at University of Virginia, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Guy earned Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors for Virginia during the Cavaliers' run to the 2019 NCAA title, but he struggled to carve out a career at the NBA level after being selected in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He made 53 appearances in the NBA from 2019-20 through 2021-22 -- 34 with Sacramento and 19 with Miami -- but never averaged more than 10 minutes per game in a single season. He had most recently played overseas in Spain with CB Canarias.
