The Clippers announced Sunday that Tucker won't be with the team for the time being,
Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSISThe Clippers are expected to officially part ways with Tucker soon, potentially by facilitating a trade with another team willing to take on the 39-year-old's $11.54 million salary for the 2024-25. Acquired from the 76ers last October in the deal that sent
James Harden to Los Angeles, Tucker made just 31 appearances during the 2023-24 season and averaged 1.7 points and 2.7 rebounds across 15.7 minutes. Though he has a reputation as a tough defender, Tucker probably doesn't profile as an NBA rotation player at this stage of his career, which could make it difficult for the Clippers to find a taker for his contract.
