According to the Baltimore Sun's Don Markus, Carter actually turned down offers to be drafted in the second round so that he could join the Warriors as an undrafted free agent. With all of Marreese Speights, Festus Ezeli, Anderson Varejao and James McAdoo set to become free agents this offseason, the Warriors are low on depth in the frontcourt, which could pave the way for Carter to make the roster if a good performance in summer league earns him an invite to training camp.
