The Grizzlies
announced Thursday that Williams has been diagnosed with a Grade 3 right ankle sprain and will be re-evaluated in approximately four weeks.
ANALYSISAfter missing the Grizzlies' first 12 games of the season with a left tibial stress reaction, Williams was cleared to debut last Friday. However, in just his third game back from that injury, he sprained his ankle during the second quarter of Tuesday's loss to the Nuggets, and he'll now be headed for another extended absence. While Williams is out,
Jake LaRavia and
Santi Aldama could carve out larger roles off the bench at the forward spots.
