Briscoe won the pole for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway Friday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 181.822 mph.
ANALYSISBriscoe headed up a Ford assault on the pole position with his strong lap of near 182 mph. The Stewart Haas Racing youngster beat out teammate,
Aric Almirola, to capture the pole Friday at Daytona. It was Briscoe's first pole position of the season and second of his career. He'll be a Top-5 threat in Saturday night's 400-mile race at Daytona International Speedway.
