GMS Racing announced Monday that Coughlin wouldn't finish the season in the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado and would part ways with the team, Jim Utter of Motorsport.com reports.

The team's statement cited "unforeseen issues with additional sponsorship needed" as the reason behind Coughlin's ouster. Spencer Gallagher is set to fill in for the 22-year-old Coughlin in the No. 2 truck for the Oct. 13 race at Talladega, but a replacement for the remainder of the 2018 schedule hasn't been named.
