McLaughlin finished 12th in the Detroit Grand Prix IndyCar race on Sunday.
ANALYSISMcLaughlin has had an eventful two weeks on the track. He suffered heartbreak in the Indianapolis 500 after crashing on a warmup lap, ending his day before it began. McLaughlin performed better in Detroit, though he fell from an eighth-place starting position to his 12th-place finish. That fall was caused by an avoidable contact penalty when he ran into the back of
Nolan Siegel on a restart, also drawing the ire of Arrow McLaren. McLaughlin sits eighth in the driver standings and will look to get back on track at the upcoming St. Louis Grand Prix.
