Carter, who announced Monday that he would declare for the 2018 NBA Draft, intends to hire an agent, officially voiding his final three years of college eligibility, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.

Carter becomes one of four Duke freshmen to bolt from Durham after just one season, and the loss of Grayson Allen to graduation means the Blue Devils will have to replace their entire starting five in 2018-19. The 19-year-old Carter averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in his lone season of college and projects to land in the lottery during the June draft.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter has officially decided to move on to the NBA, according to the official Duke Basketball Twitter account.

There is no word yet on whether Carter has hired an agent, but that move should be coming shortly given the prospect's projected first-round draft status. Though Marvin Bagley got most of the attention for the Blue Devils this season, Carter's work in the post was a vital part of the team's success. He averaged 13.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks, and was able to take over games while Bagley was injured or in foul trouble. Fouls were probably the biggest concern for Carter at the collegiate level, with the big man fouling out four times and coming close many more, but that will be less of an issue at the professional level. Carter also has the measurements of a NBA center or power forward, standing at 6-10 with a wing span that eclipses seven feet. He didn't use a jump shot often, but managed to knock down 19 three-pointers on 46 attempts (41.3 percent). A good combine could solidify Carter's chances of going in the lottery.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter tallied 14 points (3-6 FG, 8-11 FT) and 12 rebounds in the win over Syracuse on Friday in the NCAA Tournament.

Carter had his 16th double-double and first Feb. 24, which was the last time that the Blue Devils beat Syracuse. He will have to be effective against Kansas on Sunday in the Elite Eight. Duke should be able to clear the boards against the smaller Jayhawks.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter finished with five points, eight rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal Monday at Virginia Tech.

Carter oddly played just 24 minutes despite just three fouls as the Blue Devils looked a little confused offensively between the interior and perimeter options. Carter was one rebound shy of five straight double-doubles entering the contest, and should bounce back against an undersized North Carolina squad Saturday to close out the regular season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three blocks Wednesday against Louisville.

Carter saw a three-game double-double streak snapped, but owners have to love this all-around performance. He's been an imposing force all year long, but has really stepped up in the absence of Marvin Bagley, averaging 16.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in his last four outings.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter scored 15 points (4-14 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT) and had 10 rebounds, three blocks and a steal in Sunday's win over Clemson.

Carter had his third straight -- thirteenth of the season -- double-double in Sunday's win over Clemson. These three double-doubles have all came without stud freshman Marvin Bagley (knee), showing how Duke has relied on their other freshman-phenom Carter to carry the load. Duke figures to play it safe with Bagley's health, but Carter should still see a large role even if Bagley plays Wednesday against Louisville.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter added 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt), five rebounds, two blocks and one steal in Thursday's loss to UNC.

Carter extended his impressive stretch of accurate shooting and consistent scoring again Thursday night. The freshman forward has averaged better than 66 percent from the from the floor and a double-double (16.3 points, 10.9 rebounds) over his last seven games. Carter has now scored 10 or more points in 14 consecutive games.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Carter compiled 23 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks Tuesday at Wake Forest.

It was Carter's third double-double in four outings and ninth overall. He's gone for at least 20 points in two straight and is clearly playing at a high level, forcing teams to not double team Marvin Bagley in the process. A battle with Virginia looms over the weekend, but Carter appears matchup proof.
