Porter declared for the 2018 NBA Draft on Monday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.

This isn't all too surprising, as Porter is projected to be a high-lottery pick in the upcoming draft despite appearing in just three games for the Tigers during the 2017-18 season due to a back injury. The highly-regarded freshman flashed his potential in Missouri's final two games of the season (both losses), averaging 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 25.5 minutes per game while reportedly not playing at 100 percent. He didn't shoot particularly well (31.0 percent from the field, 30.0 percent from three), but that can likely be chalked up to rust.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter put up 16 points (4-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT) and 10 rebounds with three steals in the loss to Florida State on Friday in the NCAA Tournament.

It was not hard to see the type of potential that Porter has in his brief return from a back injury in the last two games for the Tigers. He has excellent hands for rebounding, but his shot looked rusty. The 6-10 freshman converted just 31.0 percent of his field goals and 30.0 percent of his 3-pointers in his two games which were both Missouri losses. He is likely to head to the NBA.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter collected 12 points (5-17 FB, 2-6 3PT), eight rebounds, an assist and a block in his return to the floor Thursday against Georgia.

Porter wasn't exactly efficient in his return to the floor, knocking down just 29.4 percent of his shots from the field. Unfortunately, the loss won't allow him to knock off more rust ahead of the NCAA Tournament, but the fact that he was able to log 23 minutes is a good sign. The star freshman and his teammates will now await their seeding for March Madness and he will return to action either next Thursday or Friday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (back) will play in Missouri's first SEC tournament game Thursday against the winner of Wednesday's Georgia/Vanderbilt tilt, Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network reports.

Head coach Cuonzo Martin admitted that Porter is "probably not 100 percent" but that he is healthy and in good enough condition that the team doesn't believe that playing will cause any further damage to his back. Martin also said that he didn't have a set number of minutes in mind for Porter's return, but that 20 minutes sounded like a solid ballpark figure, stating that he would be surprised if he plays 25-to-30 minutes. As for the entirety of the tournament, Martin said that he will continue to play Porter throughout the event as long as he's feeling healthy.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (back) will not play in Saturday's regular-season finale against Arkansas, but he could return to the floor during the SEC tournament, Andy Katz of NCAA.com reports.

Porter has been sidelined for nearly all of 2017-18 by his back injury and it appears he won't return for the club until the postseason. The potential top-five pick in the 2018 NBA draft should have an opportunity to build some momentum heading into the offseason, though his chances are beginning to run thin. His next opportunity to return will come either Thursday or Friday in the Tigers' first SEC tournament game.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (back) will practice each of the next two days before Missouri makes a final decision on his status for Saturday's game against Arkansas, Alex Schiffer of The Kansas City Star reports.

Porter has been able to practice over the last week and joined his teammates for warmups before each of Missouri's last two games. He's yet to make his season debut, but if his practices go without a hitch Thursday and Friday, there would be a possibility of Porter debuting for the Tigers before the SEC Tournament begins.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (back) will not play Tuesday against Vanderbilt, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The talented freshman went through some shooting drills with his teammates Tuesday, but Missouri will keep Porter sidelined for at least one more game as he's not in uniform on the Tiger sideline. It is encouraging, however, that he's warmed up before each of the last two games, which leaves the door open for a possible debut Saturday against Arkansas. More updates on Porter figure to follow throughout the week.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (back) is going through shooting drills ahead of Tuesday's game against Vanderbilt, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Porter went through the same process Saturday against Kentucky before ultimately sitting out against the Wildcats, so a similar outcome is possible Tuesday. It'd be surprising for Porter to make his season debut against the Commodores, but it hasn't been officially ruled out, either. If Porter is ultimately sidelined Tuesday, his last chance to make a regular-season debut comes Saturday against Arkansas.
