Porter (back) was fully cleared for all basketball activities on Thursday, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Porter, who underwent back surgery on Nov. 21, has yet to rejoin his team for practice. However, with word coming through that his doctor has cleared him for all basketball activities, he'll presumably rejoin his squad soon, with a possibility of playing in one or more of the team's final three regular season contests. He should tentatively be considered questionable for Saturday's contest against Kentucky, though that would give him little time to get back into playing shape.

Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin said Porter (back) is scheduled to meet with his doctor Feb. 22, Aaron Reiss of the Kansas City Star reports.

Porter has yet to rejoin his team at practice since Nov. 21 back surgery and can't possibly receive clearance to do so until he meets with his doctor. He's thus guaranteed to miss the Tigers' Feb. 20 game against Ole Miss but seems to have a chance at returning before the end of the regular season. Missouri has three more games remaining on the schedule after said meeting with Mississippi.

Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin said Tuesday that Porter (back) has yet to receive full clearance to practice and remains limited to individual workouts, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Porter, who underwent back surgery Nov. 21, is scheduled to meet with doctors later this month, at which point Missouri may have a better idea if he'll return to the court this season. Given his lengthy time off, Porter would likely require multiple practices once cleared to do so before the team would likely feel comfortable having him take part in games. Even with the nation's top recruit having been sidelined all season, Missouri has put itself in position for a berth in the NCAA tournament with a 17-8 record, including a 7-5 mark in SEC play.

Porter (back) has yet to be cleared for contact practice but will have another visit with team doctors in the coming weeks, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "If it were up to me I'd love to get a couple games under my belt before postseason play," said Porter.

While nothing is set in stone at this point, it seems Porter is making a push to get on the floor at some point this season. During his session with media Friday, Porter told reporters that he is rehabbing his back injury daily but is still working to regain his explosiveness. Time will tell whether Porter ultimately dons a Missouri jersey this season, but it does seem to be in the realm of possibility. If he gets cleared to practice in the coming weeks, Porter's situation will come into focus.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin said in a postgame press conference following Tuesday's 75-69 win over Mississippi that Porter "hasn't practiced with the team yet" but noted that he "wouldn't be shocked" if the freshman played later this season, CJ Moore of The Athletic reports.

One of the top recruits in the Class of 2017, Porter's much-anticipated college debut has been delayed after he required back surgery Nov. 21, which was initially expected to prevent him from playing at any point in 2017-18. While that still could be the case, Porter provided optimism that he might be able to suit up later in the campaign after he recently posted a video on his personal Instagram account of himself working out on the court, tagging the video with the comment, "Just letting y'all know whoever said it was gonna take 3-4 months to recover lied." Porter's father, Missouri assistant coach Michael Porter Sr., said that his son remains without a timeline for a return, but if the younger Porter continues to progress in his recovery in the coming weeks, his odds of suiting up for the Tigers during a potential NCAA tournament run would likely increase. Since Porter is widely viewed as a first-round pick should he enter the 2018 NBA Draft, it would behoove him to prove to prospective suitors that his back isn't an issue by playing a few games for Missouri down the stretch.

Porter (back) has progressed to treadmill running and light shooting, though "not much" jumping, and a possible return to the court this season is still uncertain, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

According to Porter, it's still too early to tell if he'll make a return this season. It appears that his rest and recovery is going as expected, however, which is a good sign for the possibility of him lacing up again this year. More updates on his status will likely be provided as he hits various rehabilitation milestones.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Missouri has confirmed that Porter Jr. (back) will undergo surgery on his L3-L4 spinal discs, and will likely miss the remainder of the season, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

This comes as a huge blow for Missouri, as Porter Jr. was a highly touted recruit, and expected to be among the most talented freshman in the country this season. The recovery process is expected to take three to four months, and will likely cause him to miss the remainder of the season. There is a slim chance that Porter Jr. could return by March, however this isn't expected.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Porter (hip) will not play in Monday's game against Emporia State, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.

There is no real update on Porter's status, according to Goodman, so he remains without a specified timetable for a return. Porter will be at an appointment with a specialist Monday night, so he won't even be with the team. The freshman phenom's next opportunity to play will be when the team travels to Orlando for the Advocare Invitational on Thursday, and he should be considered questionable-at-best for the tournament.
