Langford (foot) is about "as close to over the hump as you can get" according to head coach Tom Izzo, Brendan Quinn of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Langford hasn't taken the court the last two seasons for Michigan State due to foot surgery and follow-up complications, so Izzo is careful with his words when discussing the health of his presumed starting shooting guard. Once a top-25 overall recruit that came in with the same class as Cassius Winston and Miles Bridges, Langford now finds himself as the veteran with an entirely new supporting cast. The Spartans expect him to be less of a volume shooter and play a bit more efficiently on this go-around, as well as lean on his defensive capabilities alongside starting point guard Rocket Watts. Getting 30-plus minutes per contest seems unlikely out of the gates, but reaching that level of contribution down the road isn't outside the realm of possibility.
